Description

Josephine Chesterfield (Anne Hathaway) is a glamorous, seductive Brit with a penchant for defrauding gullible wealthy men. Into her well-ordered world bursts Penny Rust (Rebel Wilson), an Aussie who is as free-form and fun-loving as Josephine is calculated and cunning. Despite their differences, both are masters of the art of the fleece. Wilson’s talent for physicality and Hathaway’s wit are a combustible combination as the pair pull out all the stops to swindle a tech billionaire (Alex Sharp).

I watched this when it hit the theaters, not knowing it was a remake of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”. So perhaps that changed my expectations compared to a lot of others who have reviewed this and mentioned it wasn’t a good remake. (I don’t even remember “DRS”, so even if I had known in advance it wouldn’t have made much difference anyway.) My partner and I both laughed to the point of tears in the theater (which isn’t remotely the norm for us) & have been quoting lines from the movie ever since. I couldn’t wait for it to make it to iTunes for purchase! It is not an epic blockbuster with in-depth storylines and tons of character development. If you’re expecting that, you’re going to be disappointed. If you’re looking for a lighthearted comedy with fantastic delivery & clever quips, you’re in the right place.
  • Horrible movie

Did Anne Hathaway lose all her money to a con artist and is not forced to do insipid movies? And if Rebel Wilson is trying to up her hollywood game or boost her career....this movie was not the right vehicle. I give this move 1 star, because I can't give it a 'Negative 10'. Anne and Rebel should feel so guilty about making this movie, that they reimburse anyone who paid to see it. BARF

I love Rebel Wilson and I preorderd this, assuming the reviews had to be wrong. They weren't. It's dreadful. The premise seems like it has great potential for comedy, but it isn't funny at all, despite the efforts of the actors. Characters are unlikable, paper thin with no development. It's just a complete piece of garbage. I would rate one star, but I do love these actresses.

This was a terrible knockoff of the classic movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. TERRIBLE ACTING! And a stolen script with just a new title. Do yourself a favor and just stick with the classic and pass on this

I saw this when in the theaters and it’s funny. It’s not Dirty Rotten Scoundrels..but it’s good. It’s a movie that doesn’t take itself seriously...and they know it. So many bad reviews and yet it’s a lol 😂 flick 👏
